WSET Level 2 Award in Wines

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is the ideal qualification for anyone wishing to build a solid and comprehensive understanding of the world of wine.

The course is suitable for professionals working in the wine, hospitality and retail sectors, as well as dedicated wine enthusiasts seeking a deeper understanding of wine styles, grape varieties and wine-producing regions. Previous completion of Level 1 is not required.  

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is designed for curious wine lovers who want to deepen their understanding of wine and gain the confidence to navigate the world of wine with greater knowledge and enjoyment.

WSET Level 2 provides a structured and engaging introduction to the most important grape varieties, wine regions and production methods.

The course is equally suitable for wine enthusiasts and those working with wine professionally. No previous WSET or other wine qualifications are required.

What You Will Learn

Participants will be introduced to the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT) through the guided tasting of approximately 45 wines.

Systematic Wine Tasting
Participants will be introduced to the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT) through the guided tasting of approximately 45 wines.

Examination

The course ends with a 60-minute closed-book multiple-choice examination consisting of 50 questions.

Results:

  • 85–100%: Pass with Distinction
  • 70–84%: Pass with Merit
  • 55–69%: Pass
  • Below 55%: Fail

One free re-sit examination is included if required.

Upon successful completion, participants receive the internationally recognised WSET Level 2 Award in Wines certificate and may use the official qualification title.

The WSET Level 2 education is delivered in collaboration with APP Vinuddannelse.dk.

Practical information
Course Format

The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines combines classroom teaching, guided wine tastings, self-study and examination. The course follows the official WSET syllabus and is delivered by certified WSET educators in collaboration with APP Vinuddannelse.dk.

Course Language
​​​​​​​The course is conducted in English.

Course materials, study guides and examinations are provided in accordance with WSET standards.

Recommended Study Commitment
To achieve the best results, students should expect to supplement classroom learning with independent study and revision throughout the course period. We recommend spending approximately 20 hours on self-study.  

Examination
The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines concludes with a 60-minute closed-book, multiple-choice examination consisting of 50 questions.

Results:
